11/30/23 Preview

Happy 11/30/23. While this looks like a normal date to pretty much everyone, it is nice to acknowledge the best trio in NBA history by the date. That being Klay Thompson, Steph Curry, and Draymond Green. Lets hope Klay can snap out of his funk tonight and spark the start of a Warriors winning streak. Another great 11-30-23 is the on the Knicks with Jalen Brunson, Julius Randle, and Mitchell Robinson. I will never have a chance to talk about this date again so had to acknowledge these trios. I called a mediocre night in the NBA last night as there was only one game that was decided by single digits. The highlight in the NBA last night was Cole Anthony and Jalen Suggs recreating the iconic Wade to LeBron pass and dunk. The Magic have won 8 in a row and will look to extend that streak against the Wizards on Friday. In college basketball, UNC made a fool of the number 1 defense in the country putting up 100 points on Tennessee in a statement win. The SEC-ACC challenge is way more fun to watch than the Big 10-ACC in previous years since the SEC is significantly higher paced than the Big10.

Today, the NBA decided that Thursday Night Football is not an issue and threw together a 9-game slate rather than the 2-game TNT doubleheader they usually have. The Knicks look to hand the Pistons their 16th straight loss at the Garden. The Pistons off a back to back against the Lakers last night, should not compete with the Knicks tonight. It might be time to have a serious conversation about Monty Williams. This team is lost and there seems to be no positive shining besides Ausar Thompson. Ausar is already one of the elite athletes in the NBA and is a force on the defensive side of the ball. With his flashy finishing, Thompson has been one of the best rookies so far. Monty has not maximized the potential talent of this Pistons roster. This is most notable with the regression of Jayden Ivey. Getting Bogdanovic back this Saturday should help but this is not the year to tank as the draft class does not have a clear stud like Wemby or Cooper Flagg.

Today’s menu of NBA games features some of the worst teams in the leagues. The two games I am most excited to watch is the Lakers in OKC and the Clippers in Golden State. Both LA teams are on a back to back and had to travel while the Thunder and Warriors just suffered emotional loses in the In-Season Tournament on Tuesday. I could see Lebron or AD sitting out tonight even though they both played under 30 minutes last night. If they both play, it should be a fun game. For the Warriors, they need to win this game against the Clippers. Falling 2 games under .500 and losing CP3 and Gary Payton last game, the Warriors must rely on their youth of Moses Moody, Jonathon Kuminga, and Brandin Poziemski. As I wrote about yesterday, the entire game changed when Kerr took Moody out of the game against the Kings. He acknowledged this in his press conference yesterday and I hope that he can leave his young guys in when they are outplaying the vets (Klay). Hopefully the 11-30-23 magic can lead the Dubs to a much-needed victory against the Clips.

The Thursday Night Football game tonight features two teams trending in opposite directions. The Seattle Seahawks have lost 2 in a row and 3 of their last 4 games. They now have to travel to Dallas who have been red hot. The Cowboys are averaging 42 points in their last three games and have been absolutely destroying three of the worst teams in the NFC. Even though this seems like a decent matchup on paper, this has the potential to be another primetime blowout as Dallas is 9 point favorites. I hope Seattle can keep this game close but Dak has been playing some of the best football in his life. I would definitely have Dak in the MVP conversation even without the Cowboys beating a playoff team this year. This game is huge for my fantasy matchup. Both 6-6, I need this win to stay alive for the Playoff hunt. My team has Tony Pollard and I am playing against Dak and CeeDee. I do not think my team has much of a chance this week as I am starting Bailey Zappe at QB. I play in a 2 QB league and Lamar has a bye but the options I have are Zappe, Ridder against the Jets and Tim Boyle. Not looking great for my team.
