November Madness

An extremely hot take I live by is that the best days of College Hoops is during this week rather than March Madness. For an entire week you get college basketball on for 14 hours straight and Bill Walton commentating games high as a kite in a Hawaiian shirt. We have seem some timeless games like when Rui Hachimura beat Zion, RJ and Cam in the Maui Finals or just two days ago Max Abmas hitting a buzzer beater to beat Louisville. Even when a team loses, you can still see an unreal matchup unlike in March. The Maui field is stacked this year and the matchups today are what you dream to see in March. Unfortunately, Purdue will probably lose to a Fairleigh Dickinson type team again but I am excited to see Zach Edey go to battle against #7 Tennessee. Watching Purdue play yesterday, their guards are weak so it will be interesting to see how they play against Tennessee’s backcourt. After that we get an insane top 5 matchup of Kansas vs Marquette. With the addition of Hunter Dickinson, Kansas looks unbeatable but Tyler Kolek is the best point guard in the country and Shaka Smart is an unbelievable coach. This is one of the many tournaments that have a stacked field. I am looking forward to my Tar Heels playing in the Battle 4 Atlantis where I am hoping for a potential rematch of the 2016 National Championship (a game we do not speak of). These tournaments are where teams learn how to win and can also be the difference of making the big dance in March. All in all, the intensity and the matchups of the top teams in the Nation makes for this week being the best week of the College Basketball of the season.
